We Made It!   Project Reach has achieved its goal of five qualified finalists.

This is just a quick note to get the word out as soon as possible. After nearly two dozen submissions since Project REACH launched in mid-March, we have identified our five Finalists!

That is just phase one.

Phase two is the beta test phase during which employees and volunteers at Soul Kitchen have the opportunity to test drive the Finalist apps and be a part of improving them with their user feedback in advance of a grand prize winner being selected among the Finalists. We will announce the Finalists soon.

For those of you still working on your submissions, I do hope you complete your app. As I said on an earlier post, the winner of Project REACH is not the one who develops the winning app; the winners are those fellow Americans experiencing homelessness who get a better chance at finding the services out there to help them. I am confident that the community rallying around this prize challenge won't consider the problem solved by one contest. The momentum and visibility you've all created is what is going to get us there.

For details about the Rules pertaining to the selection process, please check out this Update we posted last month: http://reachthehomeless.challenge.gov/updates/253

Thank you,
